Terms of Service
Draft of 12 October 2026
DRAFT FOR LEGAL REVIEW. These terms are not yet in force. Highlighted items need to be confirmed by Bridgit and reviewed by a lawyer before they are published as final.
1. About Bridgit
Bridgit is a platform that connects students who want food from campus restaurants with runners who deliver it. Bridgit is run by [legal company name, RC number and registered address] (“Bridgit”, “we”, “us”).
Restaurants prepare and sell the food. Runners deliver it as [independent service providers, not Bridgit employees: confirm]. Bridgit provides the app, takes payments, holds them until delivery and pays restaurants and runners.
By creating an account or using Bridgit, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
- You must be at least [18] years old.
- Students sign up with an email address from a campus Bridgit supports. Runners and restaurants are verified before they can deliver or sell.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your phone, passcode and sign-in codes to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- One account per person, unless we agree otherwise.
3. Your Bridgit wallet
- You top up your wallet through Paystack. Paystack’s own terms apply to those payments.
- Your balance can be used to pay for orders on Bridgit. It is not a bank account and earns no interest.
- Runners and restaurants can withdraw their earnings to a verified Nigerian bank account. [Confirm whether students can withdraw unused balance, and any fees or limits.]
4. Ordering
- Restaurants set their menu and prices. Any delivery fee, service fee or group-order charge is shown before you pay.
- When you place an order, we take the payment from your wallet and hold it. The restaurant and the runner are paid only after delivery is confirmed.
- Delivery is confirmed when you give your delivery code to the runner. Only share it when you have your food. Once your code is entered, the order counts as delivered.
- Delivery times are estimates. Your runner may contact you through the in-app chat.
5. Cancellations, refunds and problems
- If the restaurant declines your order, the full amount goes back to your wallet automatically.
- You can cancel an order [until the restaurant accepts it / until it is picked up: confirm], and the amount goes back to your wallet.
- If something is wrong with a delivered order, report it in the app within [24 hours], with a photo if you can. We’ll look at it and may refund part or all of the order to your wallet.
6. For runners
- You must pass verification (ID, selfie and, if you ride, your vehicle) and keep those details current.
- Confirm each pickup with the restaurant’s code and a handoff photo, and each delivery with the student’s code. Never ask for a student’s code before handing over the food.
- Deliver safely, follow the law and campus rules, and don’t open or tamper with orders.
- Your earnings for a delivery go into your wallet once it is delivered. [Confirm how runner earnings are calculated, any fees, and the payout schedule.]
7. For restaurants
- Keep your menu, prices and availability accurate, and tell customers about ingredients they may need to know about.
- You are responsible for the food you sell, including hygiene, food safety and any licences you need.
- Accept or decline orders promptly and have them ready for the runner.
- Bridgit keeps a commission on each delivered order and pays out the rest to your bank account. [Confirm the commission and payout schedule, or point to the restaurant agreement.]
8. Things you must not do
- Use Bridgit for fraud, fake orders or to get refunds you aren’t owed.
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone, in chat or in person.
- Order, sell or deliver anything illegal. [List any restricted items, for example alcohol.]
- Share or misuse pickup or delivery codes, or another person’s account.
- Interfere with the service, or copy it or its data by automated means.
9. Suspending or closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk or is used for fraud. Where it is safe to, we’ll tell you why. You can close your account at any time; see “Deleting your account” in the Privacy Policy.
10. Our responsibility
We work to keep Bridgit available and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted. Restaurants are responsible for their food, and runners for how they deliver it. [Limitation of liability wording, to be drafted by a lawyer.] Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018 or other Nigerian law.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it applies. If you keep using Bridgit after that, the new terms apply.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. [Confirm how disputes are resolved: for example, first through support@bridgitcampus.com, then mediation or the courts of a named state.]
